Tai Chi has very deep roots in China and many of the martial arts in the world have some roots of Tai Chi. The techniques and movements of Tai chi are very balanced and precise. This is performed while the student is in a relaxed state of mind. Whilst the student is in this state they are still fully attentive of their movements and what is going on around them. Tai Chi is a stylishness which actively promotes stamina, strength and flexibility. It also encourages the student to make a state of relaxation, which will help them both mentally when focusing and also on a spiritual level. One of the goals is to reach a level of meditation to get on a higher level.

HSING – I

This is a form of Kung Fu essentially and is closely related to Tai Chi. Its aim is to teach the body certain techniques and movements which are both powerful but using as small energy as possible. This martial art stylishness is not that well known outside of China but has been around for years for the Chinese people. It builds upon Tai Chi’s roots in medicine and scenery. There are five elements that students of the stylishness must learn which are metal, fire, planet, water and wood. Each blow and technique is consequential from one of these elements. There are many complicated nearly dance like moves taught to students, these are consequential from animals and how they react in certain situations. The training is very rigorous and demanding for a student, the breathing exercises alone will place you exhausted. But, those who practice this art proficiently over a number of years, report that their endurance levels and skills are virtually unmatched by any other form of the arts. The downside to this certain stylishness is that it is very hard to get involved with it outside of china. There may be a few schools specialised in this art, but they will be few and far between.

Combined with kung Fu, HSING – I and Tai Chi are formidable arts that will help the student with flexibility, endurance and most importantly self-defence. The ambitious student in China will not just examine one stylishness they will look at for training in Kung Fu and HSING – I simultaneously to achieve a higher corporal skill and spirituality. This frankly is hard to match when compared to just one practice of a single stylishness. Kung Fu does include certain elements of these two Chinese Styles but it does lack the spiritual side somewhat in my view.

China has brought many martial arts stylishness to the world over the years which we can be thankful for. The Chinese people have been practicing martial arts through the generations not just to learn self-defence but to achieve a higher level of peace and spiritual guidance. I reckon we could all take a leaf out of their book in one way or another.
