It's a special year, Houby Fest celebrates its 40th ANNIVERSARY on
Saturday and Sunday, October 4th and 5th on Cermak Road!

Whatever else you do during the festival, a visit to the “Czech Oasis” is a MUST! Showcasing Berwyn’s Czech heritage and its inextricable link to the humble Mushroom, (or “Houby”). 

The Czech Oasis at Houby Festival 2008 lets you:

LISTEN to, dance to, even sing along with US and Czech bands — with music ranging from polka to pop to punk!

EAT incredibly well, from the awesome potato pancakes made by Klas restaurant, to the strangely delicious mushroom tamale from Tamale Hut.

DRINK the good stuff with either a delicious Czech Pilsner or an icy Miller beer!

LEARN to cook, by attending a demonstration by Chef M.McMahon of “Now We’re Cookin’” !

ADMIRE the lively folk dance and intricate costume of the Moravian Dancers!

GOGGLE at ...  and/or imitate – bellydancers!

ENJOY professional art by local talent Miro and artistic mushrooms by local school kids.

FEEL young at any age – Carnival Rides beginning Friday, October 4!

SEE the famous HOUBY DAY PARADE at 12:30p.m. on Sunday, October 5th,  then stay to bask in the friendly, happy atmosphere of the festival!
